Grasp latch hook in your right hand. Fold one piece of precut rug yarn exactly in half around shank of hook below latch. hold yarn in place with right index finger. |

Insert tip of hook into one hole of the canvas and out hole directly above. Push hook through, past the latch. Until canvas threads are over hank of hook |  |

Grasp both ends of yarn between left thumb and forefinger. LATCH MUST BE OPEN. Place yarn end over latch (between latch and hook). |

Four
Pull hook towards you until latch meets hook, closing over the yarn. Release yarn ends with fingers. Pull hook sharply towards you to complete knot around the canvas threads. |  |

Tighten knot by pulling two yarn ends towards you evenly. Now repeat process. |
